Air fryers have made cooking fast, easy, and healthy meals that everyone can enjoy. Here’s how to make delicious whole chicken in the air fryer.

PRE-HEATING THE AIR FRYER

Most Air fryers come with a preset setting for this, but if yours doesn't just set it to the maximum temperature and time to 3minutes.
Let it run while you prep the chicken.

PREPPING THE CHICKEN

Mix all powder spices to be used on the chicken in a bowl then set aside.
Clean the whole chicken and pat it dry before placing it in an aluminum foil.
Then, generously sprinkle the spice mix on it ensuring it's covered all over. You could stuff it with the onions at this point.

AIR FRYING THE CHICKEN

Once certain everything is in right, wrap the foil around the chicken, perforate a few holes on it then place it in the air fryer tray and close it up.
Set the temperature to 200 degrees Celsius and time to 22 minutes then let it run.
Halfway into the time, hit pause, flip over the chicken and add the onions (if you hadn't stuffed the chicken with those during prepping.
Return into the air fryer and allow to cook till time is up. Pry with a folk to check if it's cooked through. If not, give it more time.
Once done, get the chicken off the aluminum foil and set aside.

PREPPING THE POTATOES

To the peeled and diced potatoes, sprinkle some rosemary and black pepper. Toss thoroughly to ensure everything is coated then place the on the foil that had the chicken. The idea is to make good use of the leftover juices from the chicken.

AIR FRYING THE POTATOES

Wrap up the potatoes in the film and put them in the air fryer. Close up the air fryer, set the temperature to 200 degrees Celsius and time to 25 minutes then let it run.
Halfway into the time, hit pause, get rid of the foil then toss them before returning them into the fryer and cooking till done.
Again, use a fork to pry and check if ready.

SERVING

Your meal is now ready to serve. Plate and pair with a side of your choice. Chilli kachumbari is a great choice!
